Olly Murs was born in Witham, Essex, the son of Vicki-Lynn (Pollard) and Peter Murs. He has a younger of twin brothers, Ben Murs, and a sister, Fay Murs. Two of his great-grandparents were Latvian. He is a supporter of Manchester United football club, and he played semi-professionally for Witham Town. He gave up his football career following an injury.
