He urged Congress to reintroduce an expired ban on "military-style" assault weapons, such as those used in several recent mass shootings, impose limits on ammunition magazines to 10 rounds, introduce background checks on all gun sales, pass a ban on possession and sale of armour-piercing bullets, introduce harsher penalties for gun-traffickers, especially unlicensed dealers who buy arms for criminals and approving the appointment of the head of the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives for the first time since 2006. The President has just came from Boston from the Marathon witch takes part every 3rd Monday in April saying " A Bomb can not down our spirits" .

Chris Hoy led Team GB out as the team's flag carrier at the opening ceremony at the London 2012 Olympic Games. He then went on to win gold in the team sprint with Jason Kenny and Philip Hindes, setting a new world record in the velodrome and becoming Team GB's joint gold record holder with Sir Steve Redgrave's tally of five gold medals with a total of six medals (5 gold, 1 silver). On 7 August 2012 Chris Hoy won gold in the Keirin to overtake Sir Steve Redgrave and become the most successful British Olympian ever, winning a total of 6 gold medals, This also made him the joint holder of most medals won by any British athlete in the Olympic Games with fellow cyclist Bradley Wiggins. Chris Hoy has announced he is going to retire from his athletic career.

In 1954 Johnny Cash and Vivian moved to Tennessee, where he sold appliances while studying to be a radio announcer. At night he played with guitarist Luther Perkins and bassist Marshall Grant. Perkins and Grant were known as the Tennessee Two. Johnny Cash worked up the courage to visit the Sun Records studio, hoping to get a recording contract. After auditioning for Sam Phillips, singing mostly gospel songs, Phillips told him that he didn't record gospel music any longer. It was once rumored that Phillips told Johnny to "go home and sin then come back with a song I can sell," though in a 2002 interview Johnny Cash denied that Phillips made any such comment. Johnny eventually won over the producer with new songs delivered in his early rock'a'billy style. In 1955 Johnny Cash made his first recordings at Sun, "Hey Porter" and "Cry! Cry! Cry!", which were released in late June and met with success on the country hit parade.

After playing in the streets for years, he was brought to the club by friend Tshymen Buhanga who informed the club coach "I bring you the new Romário". Patrice Evra spent a year at the club under the watch of coach Jean-Claude Giordanella, who later became vice-president of the club. Giordanella described the player as "more quiet, almost shy. He was a good kid". Patrice originally played football in the striker position and, while training at Les Ulis, underwent trials with professional clubs Rennes and Lens. Following the conclusion of the evaluations, Evra was rejected primarily due to his size. In 1993 he joined amateur club CSF Brétigny based in nearby Brétigny-sur-Orge. Similar to his stint with Les Ulis, Patrice went on trials with several clubs, most notably Toulouse and Paris Saint-Germain. He was ultimately signed by the latter club and converted into a winger. Patrice Evra trained at the Camp des Loges for a few months, but was later released.

The two were once rumoured to be a couple, after they both performed at Glastonbury in 2002. Furtado joked about the situation, saying that "Yeah, he's my boyfriend – he just doesn't know it yet".
